Goals: Peak for the start of the season Improve on-ice performance by translating off-ice gains Improve anaerobic capacity and work capacity Maintain mobility, stability, and soft tissue health Primary Focus: Movement prep to enhance mobility and stability Power, speed, and agility training specific to on-ice movements Anaerobic conditioning to improve work capacity and prepare for the demands of the season Soft tissue exercise selection to prevent injury and aid in recovery Training Program includes: Soft tissue exercises: foam rolling, trigger point therapy, massage therapy Movement prep: dynamic stretching, mobility drills, activation exercises Power, speed, and agility training: on-ice drills, Anaerobic conditioning: interval training, sprints Hypertrophy and strength training: Cardiovascular conditioning: high-intensity interval training
